Can I afford Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic Dentistry offers many different options. Some patients require treatments that are relatively easy and inexpensive. Others need more extensive restoration to reach their goals. Questions are answered and fees are discussed before treatment begins. Financing is also available.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry covered by insurance?
Since most cosmetic dental surgery is elective, insurance plans usually don't cover it. But there are exceptions, and if your treatment is medically necessary you may be covered for a portion of it. Our office will be happy to speak with you to figure out if a portion of your expenses may be covered.

Is Teeth Whitening safe?
Yes. The active ingredient in the Zoom!® Advanced whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide, which has been safely used by the dental community to whiten teeth for many years. Independent studies by universities such as New York University have found that Zoom!® did not change the underlying structure of the teeth, nor did it damage fillings or tooth enamel.

Can existing Porcelain Crowns or Veneers be bleached?
No, porcelain does not change color when exposed to dental bleach.

What should I expect during a consultation?
The best and only way to find out if Cosmetic Dentistry is right for you, is to have a complimentary in-office Smile Consultation in San Diego where Dr. Braunstein can listen to your needs, answer any questions you may have, examine your smile and provide you with educated advice.  He will explain to you the procedure/s you are interested in, or recommend another treatment to better meet your needs and goals.  Dr. Braunstein will describe how the procedure is performed, what results to expect and can also give you a preview of how your new smile will look.  At that time, we will also provide you with a quote on the cost of your new Smile Makeover and if you wish to proceed with treatment, we can assist you with financing options.
